It’s holiday season–is your business prepared? According to the NRF, nearly one-fifth of an industry’s annual sales come directly from the months of November and December.

If you haven’t got around to starting your holiday marketing, it’s not too late. Consider these tips to ensure your business optimizes its business outreach and profits this holiday season:

Tip #1: Stand out this season. In order to stand out this season amongst your competitors, create limited-time offers to encourage customers to buy now. In these offers, concentrate on and highlight what makes your company unique–emphasize products, quality, and experience. Take advantage of social media when posting about promotions. With repetitive efforts put forth, your targeted audience are sure to take advantage of these incentives.

Tip #2: Incorporate print. Email marketing and print marketing go hand-in-hand. In addition to digital efforts, use posters, flyers and print coupons to reinforce your holiday marketing campaigns. It is no secret consumers like free stuff. Create calendars or magnets to always keep your desired segmented audience thinking of your business throughout the year.

Tip #3: Partner up. With all of the local holiday events starting up, consider integrating your marketing strategies within them. Whether at a nearby high school or somewhere in the city, spending the extra money to have a booth at an event could truly be beneficial for spreading brand awareness in the long-run.

Tip 4: Think about the New Year. You can never go wrong with thinking one step ahead. With each consumer purchase during the holiday season, include a gift card or gift certificate–this introduces the benefit of generating sales into the New Year and potentially gaining loyal customers. If giving gift cards does not fit your budget, encourage multiple sales by offering customer loyalty cards or referral cards for future discounts.
